1. About This Service

Cant Park There is a community-powered platform that allows members of the public to report and document instances of obstructive, dangerous, or illegal parking. The service is operated within the United Kingdom.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this website you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use this service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to submit reports or create an account. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. User Accounts

When you submit a report, an account may be created using the email address you provide. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

5. Submitting Reports

  • Reports must relate to genuine parking issues you have personally witnessed.
  • You must not submit false, misleading, defamatory, or malicious reports.
  • Photographic evidence you upload must be your own or you must have the right to share it.
  • You must not include images of identifiable individuals (faces, etc.) unless incidental to the parking evidence.
  • All reports are subject to admin review before publication.
  • We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any report at our sole discretion.

6. Vehicle Data

We use the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service to retrieve publicly available vehicle information (make, colour, MOT and tax status) based on registration numbers submitted in reports. This data is cached temporarily and displayed alongside reports. We are not affiliated with the DVLA.

7. Report Removal & Premium Listings

  • Vehicle owners may request removal of reports associated with their vehicle registration by paying a one-time fee via our secure payment provider (Stripe).
  • Vehicles with an active premium listing cannot be removed until the premium listing expires.
  • Removal hides reports from public view but does not delete data from our systems. See our Privacy Policy for data deletion rights.
  • Removal fees are non-refundable once processing has completed.

8. Intellectual Property

By uploading photos and content to this service, you grant Cant Park There a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating the service. You retain ownership of your original content.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Use the service for harassment, stalking, or targeted abuse of vehicle owners.
  • Attempt to identify or contact vehicle owners using information on this platform.
  • Submit automated or bulk reports.
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures, CAPTCHA, or rate limits.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from this service.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

10. Illegal Content Policy

In accordance with the Online Safety Act 2023, the following types of content are strictly prohibited and will be removed immediately upon identification:

  • Terrorism content — content that encourages or glorifies terrorism
  • Child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) material — will be reported to the National Crime Agency and Internet Watch Foundation immediately
  • Intimate image abuse — sharing intimate or private images without consent
  • Harassment and threats — content designed to intimidate, threaten, or harass any individual, including vehicle owners
  • Hate speech — content that incites hatred against any group based on protected characteristics
  • Malicious or threatening communications — content that is grossly offensive or threatening
  • False communications — deliberately false statements intended to cause harm
  • Content facilitating crime — content that facilitates stalking, fraud, or other criminal offences

11. Content Moderation

All reports submitted to Cant Park There are reviewed by a human moderator before publication. We do not use automated content moderation tools.

When reviewing content, moderators assess whether it:

  • Complies with UK law
  • Complies with these Terms of Service
  • Represents a genuine report of a parking issue
  • Does not contain prohibited content as defined in Section 10
  • Does not include identifiable images of individuals (beyond what is incidental)

Moderation decisions are applied consistently and without discrimination. We maintain records of all moderation actions as required by the Online Safety Act 2023.

12. Reporting Content & Complaints

Any person — whether a registered user or not — may report content they believe is illegal or violates these terms. Our full complaints procedure, including timeframes and appeal rights, is available on our Complaints Procedure page.

In summary:

  • Use the "Report this content" button on any vehicle report page
  • Illegal content reports are assessed within 24 hours
  • Other content reports are assessed within 48 hours
  • You will be notified of the outcome if you provide an email address
  • You have the right to appeal any moderation decision

13. Freedom of Expression

We recognise and respect the right to freedom of expression. Legitimate reports of parking issues are protected expression and will not be removed simply because the vehicle owner objects. We will only remove content where it breaches these terms or UK law.

We apply moderation consistently and proportionately, taking the least restrictive action necessary. We do not discriminate on the basis of political viewpoint or opinion.

14. Disclaimers

  • Reports are user-submitted and we do not verify their accuracy. We accept no liability for the content of reports.
  • Vehicle data from the DVLA is provided as-is and may not be current.
  • The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee continuous or error-free availability of the service.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cant Park There and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to reputational harm, loss of data, or financial loss.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cant Park There and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or your breach of these terms.

17. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data via the unsubscribe mechanism provided in emails, or by contacting us directly. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

18. Age Restriction

This service is intended for users aged 18 and over. By using the service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. The nature of content on this platform (parking enforcement, vehicle data, payment processing) is not directed at children. If we become aware that a user is under 18, their account and associated content will be removed.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.

20. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
